About
The Full Story
It all began in 1987. As a young boy, Dave spent many weekends on the riverbank fishing with his dad. Spending so much time by the water, his mum decided that he should take up swimming - and that was the start of what has been a lifelong love affair with the water.

An avid club swimmer in his teens, Dave represented City of Peterborough Swimming club across all strokes, making it to the Nationals in 50m backstroke. He first qualified as an assistant swimming instructor at 17 years old, already keen on sharing his passion for swimming with others.

In 2015, Dave met his now wife, who cajoled him into giving open water swimming a try. In the decade since, they have been on many aquatic adventures together in the rivers, lakes and seas of this beautiful island and beyond.

Dave is a fully qualified and insured Swim England SEQ Level 2 swimming teacher, and SEQ Level 2 Open Water Swimming coach. He coaches the Manor Dolphins juniors in Whittlesey and at PACTRAC triathlon club.
